Instead of renting a skid steer loader and a separate tiller, you could choose a skid steer loader with a tilling attachment. And if your garden plot isn't quite as flat as it should be, look for a grading attachment for the loader. 

Turf Cutter 

A turf cutter machine is a must if you plan to grow a garden in a spot where you currently have grass. This machine gives you the ability to pick up the grass in even strips, roots and all, from the spot where you want to grow vegetables. 

The turf cutter cuts the sod into strips for easy removal. You can then move them to another section of the yard and use them to patch up or replace parts of the lawn that are struggling. 

Posthole Digger 

A posthole digging machine does just what it says: it quickly and easily digs fence post holes. This tool can be essential for any raised-bed or in-ground garden that you plan to fence. Some posthole digging equipment is designed for manual use (you hold the digger while it drills into the ground), while other models hitch onto the back of a machine such as a tractor. 

Fencing a vegetable garden is especially important because vegetables offer a food source not just you but to a lot of animals and birds as well. Whether you have raccoons or other wildlife in the area, or whether your neighborhood has a lot of nosy kids, a fence can help you ensure that your plants aren't trampled, plundered, or eaten before you can harvest.
